Teaching Our Faith
How We Teach Our Faith at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School
At Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, faith isn’t just something we do on Thursday mornings at Mass—it’s the heart of everything we do, every single day.
Yes, our students attend school Mass weekly and receive the sacraments regularly throughout the year. But our Catholic faith reaches far beyond the church pews. It’s woven into how we teach, how we play, how we treat one another, and how we grow into the people God calls us to be.
We teach our faith in science class by exploring the wonder of creation—and asking not just what we can do with knowledge, but what we should do. We help students think about the moral and ethical impact of their choices in a world full of possibilities.
We teach our faith in athletics by encouraging teamwork, humility in victory, grace in defeat, and the understanding that our gifts are meant to serve others, not just ourselves.
We teach our faith in play, where kindness, inclusion, and joy reflect the love of Christ just as clearly as any textbook ever could.
We teach our faith in the small moments—how we speak to one another, how we solve problems, how we handle mistakes, and how we show love and respect in every classroom, hallway, and lunch table.
Through all of this, our students begin to see that faith isn’t just something we learn. It’s something we live. It shapes who we are, what we value, and how we see the world.
At OLL, faith isn’t an add-on. It’s the foundation.
