School Safety

About Us

School Safety Is A Priority

At Our Lady of Lourdes, safety is a top priority—because children learn best when they feel secure, seen, and supported.

Safety here goes beyond locked doors and security cameras. We care about the whole child, which means protecting not just physical well-being, but emotional and spiritual well-being too. It also means caring for our staff, families, and visitors the moment they step onto campus.

We have a full-time security officer on site and maintain a strong partnership with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Students take part in regular safety drills, and staff are trained to respond to a variety of situations. Each staff member is equipped with the tools and training they need to act quickly and confidently in any emergency.

A big part of what keeps our school safe is our culture. From PreK to 8th grade, students are consistently taught how to treat one another with respect, take responsibility for their actions, and speak up when something doesn’t feel right. Our staff knows students well—not just their names, but their personalities, routines, and needs—so if something seems off, it’s noticed and addressed.

Parents play an important role in school safety too. By following our visitor sign-in procedures, entering only through the front office, and showing courtesy and caution during car line (no pulling around other cars), parents help us maintain a calm, respectful, and secure atmosphere for everyone on campus.

At Our Lady of Lourdes, safety is a shared responsibility and a daily commitment. We are proud to offer a school environment where students are free to focus on what matters most—learning, growing, and becoming their best selves.
